Activities of the Organization (From 1987 to 2005)
After formation, DMDIC responded to various need based and issue based concern existing in the 20 villages under Joypur Dev. Block. DMDIC in support with CASA undertook various programmes to uplift the socio-economic condition of the poor and marginalized in the areas. The programmes were –
Thelagari (pushcart) scheme provided to 17 poor unemployed persons which helped them to earn daily income and improve their economic condition. | |
Yarn distribution to 36 Mahila samities and 1250 poor weavers which increased self employment and self help motive. | |
Goat farming scheme provided to 85 poor families which helped in improving their economic condition. | |
Training on Yarn and cloth dye provided to women under Central Govt. Weaving Department. | |
Training on Naga Shuttle and weaving was provided to poor weavers to improve the market value of their products and enhance their economic output. | |
Unemployed youths were provided training on cycle repairing and motor driving for their self employment. | |
Training on mason and bamboo work was provided to unemployed youth. | |
The farmers were provided training on improved methods of cultivation so that they can improve their agricultural output. | |
Farmers were provided with improve varieties of seeds and manure to improve their cultivation. | |
Training on fruit preservation was provided to 30 women. | |
Training on Animal Husbandry was conducted and the poor villagers learnt the basic methods of treating their domestic animals from various diseases. | |
Under Food for Community Development (FFCD) programme fisheries and road were constructed. |
